"My favourite thing since childhood is to write. While rolling on the grasses of a small Istanbul neighbourhood, watching the Bosphorus and ferries, I always had new stories in my mind.

In our house, which was full of cats, birds, pictures, books and guests, we used to travel in our dreams with my fellow sister. If we couldn't sleep, we would have dreamed of lands of sleep, where children can eat ice cream as much as they want before they go to sleep.

For me, childhood was creating new places, having adventures, travelling in imaginary worlds and learning by writing.

Writing connects me to the extraordinary, borderless, colourful and joyful world of children, making my life beautiful.

What else do I want besides telling new stories to the children while living happily with my husband, our son and our cat? "

Tanşıl Kılıç was born in 1978 in Istanbul.

She studied communication sciences at university.

While working as a marketing and communication specialist, she volunteered for children in various associations and wrote stories for children.

Nowadays, she is living in Belgium, enjoying the lovely weather and writing new books.
